Key Updates from the Statehouse and Beyond for CTAO Members
LEGISLATIVE RECESS
Both the Ohio House and Ohio Senate have recessed and will not return until after the May 5 primary. The Senate does have a session currently scheduled for mid-April; however, it is uncertain if that session will be needed or cancelled.
We continue to participate in ongoing conversations with the sponsors and interested parties of HBs 443, 493, and with the Ohio Department of Taxation and the County Auditors Association regarding the discontinuation of the pennies, as well as the sponsor of HB 737 which would require cash payments to the government be rounded to a nickel.
Due to the legislative recess, we are not expecting any significant legislative activity until after the primary has concluded and the chambers return to session in mid-May.
As always, we will keep CTAO members updated on any new developments.
