Wednesday, April 26
2023 Economic Outlook – 10:00 am to 11:00 am (1 credit hour)
Lately, volatility in the economy and its markets is a common concern. Presented by Kurt Rankin of PNC Financial Services Group, this session will provide attendees with an economic outlook, as well as updates regarding current events, interest rates, and policy reforms that may impact local governments and their fiscal officers. The presenter will review local and national level data and provide an assessment of what to expect in the future. REGISTER HERE

Basics of Investing – 10:00 am to 11:00 am (1 credit hour)
This entry-level course, presented by RedTree Investment Group, provides an overview of various investment options available to Ohio public entities under Ohio Revised Code. Participants new to public funds management, as well as those wanting a refresher course, are welcome to participate. REGISTER HERE

 

Thursday, May 18
Basics of Borrowing – 10:00 am to 11:00 am (1 credit hour)
Presenters from Squire Patton Boggs and Baker Tilley will introduce participants to public finance, outlining the purpose of debt and its limitations under state law. Attendees will learn about various types of debt and financing such as notes and bonds, lease obligations, and loans. The presentation will also include an overview of credit ratings and the roles involved in borrowing. REGISTER HERE
