Court-Ordered Deposit of Unclaimed Funds
We now have been presented with our second court-ordered deposit of money for heirs into our unclaimed funds in the past 6 months. Is this a common thing? Nobody here recalls it happening before?

We have had a few of these over the last year or so. We send them to the Auditor's office, our Auditor's staff does a Payin to the correct fund and then we accept the check and the payin.

I have never had any, but I am sure they are entitled to the money.

I have it happen with the Probate court.

This is how that process is supposed to work...though it doesn't always (or even often).

Once that two year period expires, it should be credited to the General Fund.
