Refund Policy?
Does any treasurer's office have a policy on refunds? We have many people prepay before the end of the year, and then they turn around and want a refund if they overpaid. If you do have a policy, can you please send it to me?

We refund any overpayment. We do not hold any funds until the next tax year, except for monthly escrow customers.

Typically we await for refund request and provide them. However because of HB186 anybody that prepaid the 2nd half and are due a refund will be getting one as part of a mass process. We will notify them first and then if they want the balance to remain on the parcel will will do so, but our default will be to refund.

Concerning refunds due to HB186 after the 2nd half. I believe the Auditor's Office will be issuing the refunds. Is this true to most counties?
